FAQs:

Handyflow Slimline Oversink (HF05LPQ)
Q. Is the water heater vented or unvented?
A. Vented, via the spout

Handyflow Slimline Oversink (HF05LPQ)
Q. Can I fit ordinary taps to the unit instead of the spout?
A. No because the spout is the vent. Fitting the water heater to ordinary taps will cause pressure to build up inside the unit.

Handyflow Slimline Oversink (HF05LPQ)
Q. What is the tank made of?
A. The tank is made from a type of plastic.

Handyflow Slimline Oversink (HF05LPQ)
Q. What is the kW rating of the water heater?
A. 2.0kW

Handyflow Slimline Oversink (HF05LPQ)
Q. Is there a safety cut-out on the water heater?
A. Yes - The Handyflow Point of use water heater has a re-settable thermal cut-out. To reset the water heater, simply switch the unit off - it will then re-set itself.

Ultrawash (UL30E)
Q. What water pressure can the water heater work at?
A. The minimum water pressure required is only 0.4 Bar and the maximum is 6 Bar.

Ultrawash (UL30E)
Q. Is this type of water heater energy efficient?
A. Instantaneous hand wash units are a very energy efficient form of water heating because they only use power when the tap is switched on. It does not use power at any other time because it does not store any hot water at all.

Ultrawash (UL30E)
Q. What is the temperature range of the water?
A. The temperature of the water is controlled by the flow-rate. As the water passes through the unit, it is heated up, so the faster the flow rate the cooler the temperature will be.

Ultrawash (UL30E)
Q. Can the water heater be connected to normal taps?
A. No, the Ultrawash instantaneous water heater can only be installed with the supplied spout. If you need to connect to normal taps, please see the Inline Multipoint (IN95)

Everlast Unvented Direct & Indirect (90 to 300 Litres) (EVLDF & EVLIF)
Q. What is the difference between an indirect unit and a direct unit?
A. A direct type is heated by one or more electrical elements, like the water in a kettle. An indirect type is heated by a coil which is heated by hot water from a central heating boiler. It usually has an electrical element as well (like a domestic hot water tank).

Microboil Wall mounted Boiling water unit (MBP2,MBP3,MBP6,MBP8,MBP16 - MBS3,MBS6,MBS8)
Q. What does the solenoid valve on the boiling water unit do?
A. It’s a water valve that opens to let water into the unit when an electrical voltage is applied to it.

Microboil Wall mounted Boiling water unit (MBP2,MBP3,MBP6,MBP8,MBP16 - MBS3,MBS6,MBS8)
Q. What does the level probe on the boiling water unit do?
A. The level probe determines if the water in the tank is at the maximum level. It works by measuring the conductance of electricity between the water and the tank. The probe is short to check that the unit is full.

Microboil Wall mounted Boiling water unit (MBP2,MBP3,MBP6,MBP8,MBP16 - MBS3,MBS6,MBS8)
Q. Should steam be coming out of the overflow pipe?
A. Some steam is normal, and the outlet pipe will get hot. If steam is excessive then the temperature may need to be adjusted.

Microboil Wall mounted Boiling water unit (MBP2,MBP3,MBP6,MBP8,MBP16 - MBS3,MBS6,MBS8)
Q. Can the user adjust the temperature?
A. This is not really designed for users to control as the initially setting is carefully calibrated and should be OK. However on the PC board there is a small hole (labelled "SET TEMPERATURE") which gives access to an adjustable resistor. Under the hole is a plastic disk with a screwdriver slot. If you imagine the dial to be like a clock face then every 1 hour that the slot is turned changes the temperature by 1 degree. Turn clockwise to increase the temperature. If you are experiencing temperature problems, please contact our Technical Department who will be able to advise you.

Q. If a user has continuous demand for boiling water that a 3L unit cannot keep up with, should they get a larger unit?
A. In this situation you would need more kW, i.e. another unit. Occasional heavy use would need a larger unit.

Q. How can scale be removed?
A. De- scaling instructions for Microboils using normal de-scaling compound 1.Switch the power off 2.Remove front cover 3.Remove circular lid on top of tank 4.Add de-scaling compound as per instructions on the packet 5.Switch power on to bring temperature for recommended time 6.Switch power off and drain the unit via the tap 7.Flush the unit with clean water (several fillings) 8.The tap does not allow the tank to be drained completely, so ideally the unit should be taken off the wall and tipped up to drain completely 9.Replace circular lid 10.Replace front cover NB:- If the lime scale is very bad, i.e. large quantities of solid material it will be necessary to take the unit off the wall, and remove the element and physically remove the lumps of lime scale prior to adding the de- scaling compound as above If lime scale is a problem, we strongly recommend that a filter system is fitted to protect against lime scale build up.

Apollo Vented Cistern Combination Unit (AP25LM, AP50LM, AP75LM, AP100LM)
Q. Where would the water heater normally be mounted?
A. The Apollo water heater needs to be wall mounted, as high as possible to give good water pressure. Fitting must be vertical.

Apollo Vented Cistern Combination Unit (AP25LM, AP50LM, AP75LM, AP100LM)
Q. Can you fit the water heater on the floor?
A. Not really - the wall brackets are not suitable and the plumbing and electrical connections are underneath the water heater. Also, the water pressure depends on the height drop from the top of the cold feeder tank to the taps, so this is only an option if the sinks are at a lower level.

Microboil Wall mounted Boiling water unit (MBP2,MBP3,MBP6,MBP8,MBP16 - MBS3,MBS6,MBS8)
Q. How do you empty the water for service?
A. With the power off open the tap and drain until the flow stops. The water below the tap level must be removed by taking the unit off the wall, removing the circular lid on the top of the tank and pouring the remaining water out.

Apollo Vented Cistern Combination Unit (AP25LM, AP50LM, AP75LM, AP100LM)
Q. Does it matter how high up the water heater is mounted?
A. Yes because water pressure depends on height drop. You need a minimum of a metre between the top of the water heater and the tap. The higher the water heater is mounted the better.
